    Spring Term 1

    Hello and welcome to the Class 6 page. Most of the information you require about Class 6 can be found here. There will also be regular updates on Class Dojo. If you have any questions or would like to know more, please just ask!

    This half-term, our topic is The Stone Age. Here is an overview of what we’ll be exploring across all our subjects:

    English – We’ll be reading The First Drawing by Mordicai Gerstein. Children will focus on writing a historical narrative and creating a speech based on the story.

    Maths – We will be learning about Place Value, Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication, Fractions, Division, Volume, Capacity and Mass.

    Science – Our focus is Animals, including Humans. We’ll be learning about skeletons and movement.

    History – We’ll explore all about the Stone Age.

    RE – In Christianity, we will be learning about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and following the example of Jesus. 

    PE – We will be developing our ball skills.

    PSHE – We’ll focus on keeping safe online.

    Art – Our unit is 3D and Painting. We will be looking at the work of artist, Chie Hitotsuvama, and we will be using papier mache to create a cave from The Stone Age.

    .Music – The children will be learning to play the ukulele.

    Computing – We’ll explore desktop publishing.

    French – Our topic is Portraits.

    We’re looking forward to a half-term full of exciting, hands-on learning!

    This half-term, we will be having Forest School every Wednesday.

    Please arrive at school in warm, waterproof outdoor wear and sensible footwear.

    PE

    Our PE day this half-term is on Wednesday.

    Please arrive at school in your PE kit:

    • Plain, dark tracksuit bottoms/ plain, dark shorts
    • Plain white t-shirt
    • Blue school jumper, cardigan or hoodie.
    • Trainers
    • No earrings
