Welcome back Class 9!

This half term, we are studying the Victorian Period in History with a focus on comparing the lives of children in this period to our own lives now. In English, we will be reading 'Street Child' by Berlie Doherty to write a chapter about the day in the life of a Victorian child living in a workhouse. We will also use this book in our second English unit, learning about debates. In maths, we will be focusing on multiplication and division, fractions, multiplication and area and time. In science, we will be continuing our learning all about materials and reversible and irreversible changes, studying Hinduism in RE, learning how to talk about our homes in French and producing self portraits in Art. In PE, will will be learning hockey skills in our invasion games unit and focusing on fitness and health in our fitness unit. 

We also have our trip to Ripon Museum on the 6th November which will be a fantastic hook to start our History unit. 

PE Days

Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Please arrive to school in your PE kit:

• Plain, dark tracksuit bottoms/Plain, dark shorts
• Plain white t-shirt
• Blue school jumper/cardigan/hoodie (no other hoodies)
• Trainers
• No earrings
